What I want to know is why Orloff Vodka? If I'm going to go out like Boris Yeltsin can't I at least treat my liver to the good stuff? Absolut or Grey Goose would be my preferred fast track to cirrhosis. If I drank Vodka, which I don't.

I think I might have inadvertently added booze to the bonfire by suggesting further study might be useful. I wasn't of course suggesting medicating with Johnny Walker of a morning might be a viable treatment option, just curious about the mechanisms by which alcohol suppresses tinnitus in some people, such as myself. I'd assumed initially it was simply down to its sedative qualities but since no other relaxant/hypnotic seems to have any direct effect on my tinnitus I feel it has to be something else and the few studies on alcohol and hearing do seem to suggest a link.

Still, newbies deciding to try out ruudi's "cure of getting up at 6 a.m. to down a flaggons of special brew before heading off to their jobs as school bus drivers or air traffic controllers is obviously not an ideal scenario I'd agree.
