Tom Friedman, of the NY Times, spent some time recently in Africa, and his op ed pieces from there, ( I don't remember how he transmitted them here) kept mentioning that he couldn't use his cell there.

I, personally, although I have one, don't use it except for outgoing calls---and mostly because there are very few public phones available.

I shall never accustom myself to being privy to so many inane conversations as I am on public buses in NY.
